Recently, the nation was shocked with the sudden passing of national No 1 golfer, Arie Irawan Fauzi.

The 28-year-old died in his sleep in his hotel room while competing in the Sanya Championship, a PGA Tour Series China event.

According to reports, he had died of natural causes and out of respect, the tournament officials cancelled the final round yesterday.

He turned professional in 2013 and Arie played his best golf in 2015 when he claimed two Asian Development Tour (ADT) victories in 2015, winning the ICTSI Eagle Ridge Invitational in Philippines and PGM Sime Darby Harvard Championship in Kedah.

After his victory in Philippines, he scaled his career-best world ranking at No.296 and became the national No.1 for a short time.

Following his sudden death, his wife took to social media to pen a few heartfelt words for her beloved.

My love, my heart, my sayang Arie, you are the greatest gift in my life. Nothing could compare to the love you've shown me during the short time we've had together. I never once doubted the most genuine love you have for me. You taught me that it was okay to love someone as much as I truly love you.

I sit in bed right now still feeling as it I'm dreaming and if I'm ever going to wake up ready to face the world. But, I thank Allah that I am lucky to know you, to love you and having you choose me as your wife. I feel your presence everywhere looking after me.

We really had the absolute best times of our lives together; my heart is always at a constant full when I'm with you. I will cherish our beautiful memories together for all eternity.

Allah had better plans for you and wanted you earlier, so I promise you sayangs, I'll be strong and patient till it's time for us to be reunited again in syurga. Please visit me in my dreams from time to time because I will forever miss you my true love. I love you forever my sayangs.
