Snatch theft victim still unconscious in ICU

A 60-year-old woman remains unconscious in the intensive care unit of the Penang Hospital after she fell victim to an attempted snatch theft incident.

The incident took place along Lebuh Mahsuri in Bayan Baru, Penang last Satuday.

It is believed that the woman is like suffering from internal bleeding since there were no visible injuries on her body.

Witnesses said two men on a motorcycle had tried to snatch the victim's handbag.

Police said the incident occurred about 6.15am when the victim was walking to a friend's house.

During the incident, the victim fell face down on the road.

As it was dark at the time, two of her friends who were with her were unable to see the registration plate.

Police have since urged those with information to contact the police.
