Missing child found dead with head severed

An 11-year-old girl was found brutally killed with her head severed from her body, hands and legs tied with several internal organs missing.

The victim, Siti Masyitah Ibrahim was found by villagers at a palm oil plantation in Kampung Tanjung Medang Hilir in Pekan.

Her body was found about 5pm yesterday after she was reported missing on Jan 30.

Police said a 23-year-old man has since been detained to assist investigations.

Police declined to elaborate till details of the post-mortem were released.

The body has since been sent to the Pekan Hospital.

The victim's mother, Zaleha Abdullah, 35, said they managed to identify the victim based the clothes she was wearing when she went missing.

She said her daughter had asked her for RM1 to go to the shop and was never seen after that.

Her parents lodged a report the same day.
