VISITORS to malls are now required to have their temperature taken only at the entrances and not at individual outlets in these premises.

Defence Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said visitors were still required to record their contact details in the respective outlets when visiting the respective retail outlets.

“Visitors don’t have to have their body temperature taken before entering every shop they visit,” he said in his Covid-19 press conference as reported by The New Sarawak .

Ismail also announced that theme parks would reopen from July 1. There are 54 theme parks in the country employing over 10,000 staff.

Operators must adhere to the SOPs such as social distancing and record the temperature of visitors and their contact details, he added.

Water theme parks are also required to follow the same SOPs as swimming pools.

Ismail Sabri also said that from today, travellers arriving from overseas were required to foot their own Covid-19 screening tests, except for those in three categories.

They are the disabled who carries the Welfare Department identification cards; government servants on official duties and students returning to Malaysia for the first time.

Those who have paid before this can ask for reimbursement.

He added that the government had also given the green light for wedding receptions and solemnization ceremonies in mosques and halls, provided no more than 250 people showed up, subject to the size of the premises.

Wedding receptions are also allowed to be held in places of worship or the premises of religious bodies, subject to the SOPs.
