Body of 8-year-old girl found 100 metres away

An eight-year-old girl who was reported missing at Pantai Tanjung Balau, Kota Tinggi recently was found drowned.

Her body was found about 4.32pm about 100 metres from where she was last seen.

Firemen said following the discovery of her body, the search and rescue mission was called off at 5.30pm.

The victim's body was handed over to the police and taken to the hospital for a post-mortem.

In the incident about 3.30pm, Nurul Ain Sajali was playing with her brother, Fazli, 14, near some rocks when she slipped and fell into the sea.

Her family tried to look for her for about two hours before calling the fire and rescue services for assistance.
