A seven-month-old baby boy who was left under the care of a babysitter in Kuala Lumpur died yesterday of severe head injuries.

Apparently, the baby was found unconscious with blood spots on his nose at the babysitter's home in Kampung Setia Jaya in Setapak.

The baby's mother had gone to get her baby at 12.15pm when she also found her baby's right eye badly bruised.

The parents then rushed the baby to a clinic in Taman Melati before taking him to the Kuala Lumpur Hospital.

Unfortunately, the baby was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.

Police said according to the 33-year-old father, the baby was fine in the morning.

A post-mortem later revealed that the baby had died from head-related injuries and internal bleeding, possibly from a fall.

No arrests have been made yet and police are investigating under the Child Act 2001.
