"Do not get involved in drugs" - a simple and clear message from a person who was executed for dug trafficking.

Prabu Pathmanathan, a Malaysian was yesterday executed in Singapore after he was sentenced to death for drug-related offences on Dec 31, 2014.

This message was shared on Facebook by the “We Believe in Second Chances”, along with a series of five pictures that were taken a few days before his execution that took place at the Changi Prison.

According to the post, Prabu, 31, had conveyed the message to a friend who was the last person to visit him, along with his brother.

Dressed in a blue T-shirt and white headwrap, Prabu appeared tranquil in the pictures and was smiling widely in some of them.

In one of the pictures, he held a copy of the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita. Another image showed him with a copy of the Sai Satcharitra, a biography based on the life stories of a saint in India.

According to reports in The Star, Prabu had wanted his pictures to be published so that people knew his story.

In Singapore, inmates who are to be executed are allowed to change out of their uniform into regular clothes and pose for pictures, with the photos then provided to the family.
