A woman's screams helped save her child from being taken by a man at a parking lot along Jalan Laksamana Permai 3, Taman Laksamana Permai in Selayang, Kuala Lumpur, on Wednesday.

In the incident at 6.50pm, the suspect on a motorcycle allegedly grabbed the four-year-old child's hand while her mother was just getting out of the car.

Police said hearing the mother's screams, the suspect fled on his motorcycle, but was chased by a man who managed to nab him.

"The 24-year-old mother saw the man holding her child's hand and trying to get the child on the motorcycle.

"The child had earlier gotten out of the car and was waiting for the mother," said police.

The mother screamed for help and also managed to push her child away while the suspect fled.

The woman's brother who heard her then chased the suspect on his motorcycle.

"The suspect was nabbed not far from the scene before police arrived".

The suspect has since been placed under remand pending investigations.
