I know it is every woman's dream to have a pretty face and look good all the time.

However, in this quest for beauty, we must also be extra cautious of all the dubious beauticians out there.

People will promise you the stars just to make some money and we, on our part must be sure not to fall victim to such claims.

Apparently there are about 20,000 self-professed beauty experts in the country offering treatment all over.

However, according to the health ministry, only 200 from the 20,000 "experts" are for real.

In the most recent incident, a 34-year-old woman was left badly scalded by hot water from a steamer during a facial treatment at home.

Apparently, Siti Zalina, who works with an insurance company, was being treated by her friend, who claimed to be a beautician.

Now treated at a hospital in Klang, doctors have told her that the burns will not fully heal as the injuries were serious.

Siti wanted to publicise her case so others can avoid such incidents.
