What are trying to imply, Shafee?

So, what was Najib Razak's lawyer, Muhammad Shafee Abdullah actually trying to say when he ticked off the media for carrying reports over Najib's alleged selfie in court?

"If they want to be the fourth or fifth estate, they shouldn't act like estate people," he said.

I wonder what he really means by this and what has the reporter's actions got to do with "estate people".

It does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that whenever estate is mentioned, Malaysians immediately relate it to Indians, as back in the time, a majority used to work in estates.

Shafee went on to tell the Kuala Lumpur High Court that Najib did not take photographs, but had used the selfie mode of his mobile phone camera as a mirror.

Fine, as a lawyer, he has every right to clarify mattes to the court, but my issue here is why bring up the word estate?

He could have just said "reporters should act more professionally and not jump to conclusions" or something like that.

As an Indian, I must say, I take offence to this statement and ask that Shafee clarify what he was trying to say.

Also, has Shafee taken a good look at himself in the mirror lately? Does he think he came from another planet?

We understand you are getting paid huge bucks to defend Najib, but that does not give you a right to insult anyone!!
