We have heard of numerous cases where people eating outside restaurants by the roadside being hit and even killed in accidents.

Despite this, such cases continue to occur, with the most recent one along Jalan Limbat in Skudai, Johor.

Police said the incident occurred about 9.20pm when the driver of a car lost control and smashed into some customers eating outside a restaurant.

Three of them were injured in the incident and sent to the Sultan Aminah Hospital for treatment.

The 50-year-old driver escaped unhurt in the incident.

Fortunately there were no casualties this time, but something must be done to prevent similar cases in future.

The authorities should once and for all put a stop to this concept of allowing tables and chairs on the road.

Malaysians love enjoying their teh tarik this way, but it is also highly risky.
