My friend's son is only 16 years old and recently, he was told by his family doctor that he is on the brink of getting diabetes.

This is because his parents never said no to him and gave him everything he asked for, including plenty of soft drinks, chocolates and ice-cream.

I know parents love their children, but there are times they must learn to say no.

Giving your kids all they ask for can be a dangerous thing and can lead to disaster.

I was even told of a case where a teenager actually committed suicide when for the first time in his life someone said no to him.

He had apparently asked a girl out and she said no. He simply could not accept it as he has never been said no to before.

He took his own life by jumping off a tall building.

This is the reason parents must learn to say no to their kids when it really matters.

It may be painful by children must learn.
