Two terrace houses along Persiaran Cempaka Sari in Ipoh were damaged in a fire earlier today.

Firemen from the Ipoh Fire and Rescue Services Department were assisted by firemen from the Pekan Baru Ipoh and Pasir Pinji stations to douse the fire.

No casualties or injuries were reported.

According to firemen, they are still investigating the cause of the fire and believe it was sparked off by fire crackers.

The authorities have repeatedly warned the public against playing fire crackers during the festive seasons.

Despite these warnings, fire crackers can be easily purchased from most parts of the country.
