Despite repeated reminders and also numerous mishaps, parents continue to leave their little ones alone in the car.

Recently, a two-year-old girl was stuck for almost an hour in a car at a petrol station along Jalan Batu Arang, Batu Arang, Batu 22 in Sungai Bakau, Rawang.

In the incident at noon, the girl was left in the car with the air-condition on as her father went to the counter to pay.

When he returned, he found the doors locked and the engine switched off.

Apparently, the little girl had played with the locks inside and the father was unable to open the door from the outside.

After several attempts by the father to get the girl to open the doors, he called for help.

Seven firemen who arrived at the scene from the Rawang Fire and Rescue Department took about 15 minutes to get the girl out.

They opened the fender and car booth before a fireman opened the door after gaining access from the booth.

The girl was already weak and unconscious when rescued.

Firemen advised parents to totally refrain from leaving their children alone in the car at any time.
