Many of us have frequently heard of certain mamak restaurants allegedly using charms to attract customers, but had never really witnessed it personally.

However, according to the authorities, a restaurant which had been operating for 18 years in Bandar Seri Alam, Pasir Gudang was found to be using more than 30 such charms to help draw customers.

This came to light following a raid by the authorities.

The charms were found hanging and placed around the shop and are believed to have been brought in from India.

The raid was conducted on the 24-hour restaurant following complains from customers and also residents in the area.

The complains were believed to be regarding the halal certification.

Following the raids, the charms were found and the matter had since been handed over to the religious department for further action.
