I am a working mother with three children, aged five, three and one.

Both my husband and me work from about 9am till 6pm everyday and have no relatives living nearby who can look after our kids.

After reading about all the horror stories involving babysitters, we are more than concerned about the safety of our kids.

We, like many others also leave our kids under the care of a home babysitter not far from where we live.

We pay about RM1,000 a month for all three kids.

Jointly, we earn about RM6,000 a month which is just enough for all our bills and other expenses in Petaling Jaya.

I know the risks involved in sending children to an unlicensed babysitter, but what choice to we have?

All the reputable ones with CCTVs etc charge about RM800 per child which would add up to RM2,400 for us - which is way too expensive.

This is the predicament faced by many working parents in the country - we have no choice.

We love our kids and want the best for them, but this is all we can afford.

Very often the parents are blamed for sending their kids to home-based babysitters, but please understand, there is nothing else we can do.

Blessed are those stay home mothers who can look after their own kids.
