A man has taken to Facebook to vent his frustration after he was issued a summon for having certain tools, including a ladder in his car boot.

Apparently, he was summoned for not registering his car as a goods vehicle.

Cops said the man had violated the law by carrying goods in a commercial vehicle without prior authorisation.

According to Section 34 of the Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board Act 1987, anyone who carries goods in an unlicensed goods vehicle faces a maximum fine of RM10,000, a year in jail, or both.

Also, to make matters worse, the man has to appear at the Petaling Jaya Magistrate's Court in January.

Netizens claim this is ridiculous as in their opinion the man had not broken any traffic regulations.

Many have since labelled the action by the police as totally unwarranted and urged the authorities to re-look the matter.

What do you think? Did he deserve a summon?
