It is best if we do not get involved in any issue pertaining to our royalties.

I know there are many questions we want answered, but it is best to keep our opinions to ourselves.

Of late, I believe some people have lost their jobs because they could not keep their opinions to themselves, the latest coming from Cisco Asean.

Following public pressure, Cisco Asean today said it fired an employee accused of insulting the monarchy on social media.

In a statement posted on its Facebook page, Cisco Asean said it believes in respecting and honouring local traditions and laws.

“The remark was made by the employee in his personal capacity and does not represent Cisco’s views.

“We deeply regret any distress caused and apologise. The employee has also issued an apology and is no longer with the company,” it said.

The Cisco Asean employee caused an uproar on social media after leaving a disparaging Facebook comment on a news report about Kelantan Ruler, Sultan Muhammad V, stepping down as the Yang di-Pertuan Agong

Please people, give them the due respect and do not risk it by making unnecessary remarks.
