Should 1MDB be part of our History syllabus?

The Education Ministry has proposed to include the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal and kleptocracy as part of the History syllabus.

According to Education Minister Dr Maszlee Malik, he wanted to make sure that 1MDB and how some leaders robbed the nation be included in the history books so that future generations will not make the same mistake.

However, as an ex-teacher, I don't really see the need to include the 1MDB scandal. It was not some kind of achievement or anything, but more of a huge crime to rob the nation.

This is not something Malaysians would want to remember in the future and not something we are proud of to teach our future generation.

In fact, if you ask me, I would propose that the Barisan Nasional be wiped out totally from our history books!

To me personally, this is a bad idea and I certainly don't see the benefit of this.

What do you readers think of this proposal?
