A father's love knows no bounds.

Deigo Abulhassan, 12, was playing in a river with his younger sister in Balabac, Palawan, Indonesia when a crocodile suddenly attacked him and pulled him into the water.

Hearing his shouts for help, his father, Tejada Abulhassan jumped into the river to save him - armed only with a piece of wood.

Tejada hit the reptile several times hoping it would release his son, but it did not.

Left with no choice, the father bit the crocodile's leg several times, causing it to release Deigo, before swimming off.

The victim was rushed to hospital where he spent two days following injuries to his face.

Fortunately there were no serious injuries and the boy will be out soon.

Well done to this fearless dad.
