This woman was lucky. The cops were fast and managed to nab her "boyfriend" who had just scammed her of RM500,000.

The woman, a clerk from Batu Pahat met the suspect through an online dating site.

Police said the 28-year-old victim lodged a report on Jan 13 after she transferred the money into his account.

The victim met the suspect through Tinder and had been seeing him for about two months.

The suspect claimed to be a teacher from Negeri Sembilan and told the victim he was apparently selling his land worth RM5 million and needed some money to pay his lawyers.

He persuaded the victim to give him the money and she used funds from her mother's retirement money.

The suspect, as expected disappeared after getting the money and could not be reached.

Following the report lodged, police managed to nab the suspect at a mall in Batu Pahat on Saturday.

They seized a brand new Perodua Myvi, which was probably brought using the stolen money and also RM21,250 in cash.

The balance of about RM414,000 was still in the suspect's bank account which has since been frozen.

The suspect was also wanted for seven other cheating cases in other states.

So ladies, please be extra careful and trust nobody when it comes to money.
