If the issue is who came first, this is hardly a basis to justify it. There is a large group of people habitating the Malay Archipelago, a large part of the Pacific Ocean and possibly west up to the Indian Oceans. In addition, the diaspora of Chinese and Indians in the region is as old as the Chinese junk (non-motorised ancient Chinese ocean-liners.) And they came to the region for various reasons: persecution, trade, migrant labor, exiles for crimes, etc.etc.

The awesome possible truth of the 4 Malay Warriors could be that they were hired pros from ancient China. Had they been very good, they might not have been spared by the Emperor. Who were they? I would be quite prepared to accept the bitter truth that they were possibly the underworld honchos, like kaki pukul!

Which of course brings us to the present day and the ethical dilemma facing Malaysian politics. Were these people simply gangsters it does little good for anybody's pride. If the Chinese Malaysians were to harp on this racial origins, they'd have to explain to everybody that these bad Malays have been enculturated by the bad elements, certainly not Confucian ethics, so what you got to say?

Well, maybe do what the BA is trying to do --- work at reforms and stop sulking!
