Is it not safe for women to even use the toilets these days?

I am writing in to warn women to be extra cautious when using the toilets at rest areas and petrol stations when traveling.

I have heard of incidents of women being robbed and raped at these locations which are mostly very quiet at nights.

One such incident I recently read about occurred at a toilet at a petrol station while a family was on their way to Kuala Lumpur when they stopped at the station at 11.30am.

A woman passenger had gone to the toilet alone while her sister was using her phone at the time.

She noticed there was no one else in the toilet, except for a cubicle which was locked.

According to reports and a Facebook post, while she was using the toilet, a man suddenly jumped in from the next cubicle and tried to rape her.

The victim screamed and even bit the man who was semi nude.

Lucky for her, others who were nearby heard her screams and managed to save her and also nab the suspect.

The suspect was later handed over to the police.

This incident happened in broad daylight and my advice to women is to never go to these places alone, especially after dark.
